Tour of Ibra

First weekend after moving into my flat, and I was finally able to get out and see some of the rest of the town.   Many of the hills around here are topped by towers, so I climbed up to visit one:

Like the round towers of the Irish monasteries, the entrance is a safe distance above the ground.

Once I’d climbed this hill, I was surprised to see a lot more of Ibra on the other side than I’d expected:

Plenty there for me to nose my way around over the next few weeks.

I do like the universal, but infinitely variable “school crossing” road sign; here’s the Omani variant (with another watchtower):
